Drs. Joep Groenendijk Owner Friendly Island Pharmacy and Simpson Bay Pharmacy
Joep is the owner of both the Friendly Island Pharmacy and the Simpson Bay Pharmacy, as well as active pharmacist at the Simpson Bay Pharmacy. Joep, being Dutch from descent has lived on the island for over 18 years and has been a pharmacist for 20 years. He has been owner of the Friendly Island Pharmacy since 1993 and has opened the Simpsonbay branch in 1995. Joep speaks English, Dutch, Spanish, French and a little bit of German.
Drs. Johan A. Spotbeen Pharmacist Friendly Island Pharmacy
Johan is originally from Belgium, but has lived in the Caribbean numerous years. Surinam was his first stop where he resided for 30 years and worked in various pharmacies gaining a great deal of experience. He moved to St. Maarten almost 3 years ago where he is now the pharmacist at the Friendly Island Pharmacy. Being from Belgium , Johan speaks French and Dutch, but also English, Surinam and a bit of Spanish.
Nicole Heisterkamp Commercial Manager
Nicole has only recently joined the team. She grew up in St. Maarten and returned to the island after finishing her studies and getting her work experience in the Netherlands . She speaks English and Dutch, can understand a bit of French and is currently learning the Spanish language.
Patricia Brown
Assistent Phamarcist
Patricia is officially from Curaçao but has spent the biggest part of her life on St. Maarten and in the Netherlands. She did her studies in the Netherlands and after finishing returned to St. Maarten to work for the Friendly Island Pharmacy. She is fluent in English, Dutch and Papiamentu, the native language of Curaçao, but can also assist customers with a bit of Spanish and French.
Joyce Modiwirijo
Assisitent Pharmacist
Joyce comes from Surinam. She has been living on St. Maarten for 3 years now and has been working for both pharmacies during the same amount of time. She has been a Assisitent Pharmacist for 11 years now. Joyce is very customer oriented, is very well informed about the products and can explain these well. She speaks English, Dutch, Surinam and a bit of Spanish.
Liesbeth de Roos
Assistent Pharmacist
Liesbeth is orginally Dutch but lives on St. Maarten for 14 years of which 11 she has worked for the pharmacy. You can find her in the Simpson Bay Pharmacy where she is always helpful to assist. She is fluent in English and Dutch and can explain medicines in French.
Yonika Richardson
Assistent Pharmacist
Yonika is from the island of St. Maarten and although she did her studies in the Netherlands was glad to return to her homecountry. She works in both the Simpsonbay and Friendly Island Pharmacy and prefers to only speak the languages she knows well which are English and Dutch.
Astrid Wesselman

Astrid is from the Netherlands and also did her studies there. She is on the island of St. Maarten for almost 15 years and has spent all that time working for the Friendly Island Pharmacy which she knows inside out. She speaks English and Dutch but can explain the use of medicines in French and Spanish. Next to that she has just started a language course in papiamentu as well.
Marretje Witte
Assistent Pharmacist
Marretje is Dutch from origin and has also done her studies in the Netherlands. She came to the island 3 years ago and works for both the Simpson Bay Pharmacy and the Friendly Island Pharmacy. It is a surprise in which pharmacy you will find her! She speaks Dutch, English and German but can also explain the use of the medications in French and Spanish.
Virginia Carty

Virginia is a veteran at the Friendly Island Pharmacy, working there for a record of 17 years. She speaks English and Creole, which is a Caribbean version of French. She is vey helpful to all customers and takes interest in knowing her regular customers well, of which she knows many by name.
Casilda Illidge Sales
Casilda is from the island of Aruba , but has lived in New York for 30 years. She has lived in St. Maarten for 14 years in different periods of her life and now has been back for the last 5 of which working for the Simpson Bay Pharmacy. She speaks English, Dutch, Papiamentu, Spanish and French and even tries a little bit of Italian and Portuguese.
Suzanne Mc.Farlane

Suzanne comes from the island of St.Lucia and if all persons there are like Suzanne it's a very happy country! Suzanne has been on St. Maarten for over 15 years and for the last 8 has been working for the Friendly Island Pharmacy. She speaks English and Creole, which is a Caribbean version of French, but will do her best for anybody asking a question with her wide knowledge of the products in the pharmacy.

Julie comes from the neighbouring island of Anguilla which is a British island. She has been on St. Maarten for 10 years and has been working with both the Simpson Bay Pharmacy and the Friendly Island Pharmacy for almost 4 years. As both pharmacies have different targetgroups, Julie has good knowledge of all products sold in both pharmacies and can assist customers well. Coming from a British Island she says she speaks only English but if we don't look she can help out in a bit of spanish as well but we know she will also do her best to assist customers who don’t speak english.

Christine comes from the island of Montserrat originally but is on the island of St. Maarten for 34 years already, thus considered local! She has worked by the Simpson Bay Pharmacy since the opening and knows the store inside and out. She will gladly assist you in English but will try her best at some Spanish, French and Papiamentu as well.
Cynthia Ceasar
Interior cleaning
Cynthia comes from Dominica but has been living on St. Maarten for 19 years. She has been working for the Friendly Island Pharmacy for 3 years. She makes sure the pharmacy looks its best, by keeping the store as dustfree as possible and clean Cynthia speaks English and Creole, which is a Caribbean version of French. Cynthia also runs different errands for both pharmacies and drives between the two pharmacies bringing requested products or documents from one pharmacy to the next.
Sarah Reinar Rondón
Interior cleaning
Sarah is from Santo Domingo and is a very lively person. She has been in St. Maarten for 21 years and has been working in the pharmacy for almost 8 years. She is continuously busy with keeping the Simpson Bay Pharmacy clean and cared for and has a talent for window dressing. Although the main language Sarah speaks is Spanish she will try her best with a little bit of English.
